Interporting coming. E-mail

Several online papers and blogs are echoing comments made by Adam Goldstien, indicating that Royal Caribbean International is looking to expand "interport" cruises.  If you watched "The Love Boat" in your youth, you know that there were often times when people would embark or disembark from a cruise at different ports.  Indeed, it seems Enchantment of the Seas has already been doing this, and the idea is catching on within RCCL management.

A pleasent development from this could be an increase in "unique" itineraries, rather than the standard 7 day milk runs you can set a watch by.  That said, there is something to be said about being able to start a cruise with a single group, and enjoy the way the energy grows over the week.

Allure of the Sea bookings begin. E-mail

Royal Caribbean International has started booking Allure of the Seas.  Bookings began March 21 with Crown and Anchor members being allowed to book 4 day "pre-inagural" cruises.  Gone are the days when traditional "pre-inagurals" were promotional affairs where travel agents and others were invited to sample the new ship.  Now they are not much more than expensive pre-views of ships not yet ready for full service.

The quote I got for the 4 day:

Ship: Allure Of The Seas
Sail Date: 12/01/10
Number of Nights and Itinerary: 4 Night Labadee Extravaganza Cruise
Number of Guests: 2
Stateroom Category: B2

Guest : Gateway: City/Airport
Guest 1 : Cruise Only
Guest 2 : Cruise Only

Total Stateroom Price: $1948.56

Open booking is now underway.  There were some hints at lower prices for Oasis of the Seas I've been told about.

Royal Caribbean transports relief supplies to Labadee E-mail

Royal Caribbean International's Independence of the Seas expects to make port at Labadee today, with a substantial load of humanitarian aid.

Labadee is located far to the north of Port Au Prince, the devastated capital city of Haiti. The docks and other facilities were undamaged by the recent earthquake. And beyond the central part the area plays to those residents working for Royal Caribbean, it also is now one additional means to bring supplies into a country crippled by small airports, wrecked roads, and few means to traveling quickly inland. In addition, the Navigator and Liberty of the Seas are being prepared to carry cargo to Labadee as they cycle through their stops there.
