TOPIC: Going to Mexico

Going to Mexico 2 years, 3 months ago #524

Hello fellow cruisers! I am going on a cruise to Mexico (Cabo, Mazatlan and Puerta Vallarta) in November and I am looking for anyone who might know which shore excursions are best for families (5 and 10 yr old with us). I would love to hear any recommendations (especially on the dolphin ones).

Thank you!

Hello
We were on the Mariner of the Seas on June 28th. We used a tour company called Cabo San Lucas tours www.cabosanlucastours.net/
They offer shore excrusions at all three of the ports you visiting. We used them in Mazatlan and did the "Beach Break". Great deal! Check out their website and just click on the tab "more tours" and you will be able to check out what they have to offer in each of your ports. My friend did do the "swim with the dolphins" in Cabo and didn't book online thinking she would get a better deal once she got down there, but she ended up paying more. We originally booked with this company in May and then our cruise itinerary was changed because of the swine flu scare. They refunded our money with no problem. So in June when the ship resumed their itinerary back down to Mexico we booked another cruise in June (price was to good to let it get by) and rebooked with Cabo San Lucas tours. Are you on the Mariner of the Seas or the Splendor? We had a blast. Hope your cruise will be just as much fun.

Your kids are going to have a great time on the Mariner of the Seas. They have a great kids program. My nephew cried when we made him eat with us on formal night. The Mariner has a self serve soft ice cream machine on the pool deck starboad side. Yummy. Also don't miss the ice show. Unbelieveable what they can do on a small ice rink. Get down to Studio B about 20 to 30 minutes before the show and you should be able to get any seat you want. There was children sitting in the front rows and one of the stints they do is with clowns and they brought out this cart out and loaded it up with some of the children to ride around the ice rink with the clowns. The look on their faces was priceless. They also had a "Family Disco night" where parents and children took over the disco (Dragons Liar) one night. Fun.
If you have any questions I would be happy to answer.
