Hi. Thanks to NWLB for the invite to come join here after checking out my cruise blog.

My wife, son and I live in New Jersey but we're actually looking to move to Florida within the next year for a variety of reasons, one of which being more cruising choices. I've been on 12 cruises with the last 5 being on Royal Caribbean and I see no reason to stray. Absolutely the best out there.

If anyone has any cruise questions, fell free to ask away, and you can check out my blog at the link in my signature.

Post edited by: kenp1972, at: 2007/10/16 03:16

Hello from a cold and wet Scotland.

My first cruise was back in 1999 when Gary, our son and I (for his 21st birthday) cruised on Legend of the Seas from Dubai to Singapore - Royal Journeys - (hubby couldn't manage due to work commitments). That was the start of an expensive cruising hobby!! I have now done around 14 cruises with RCCL - last one in May'07, Scandanavian Cruise on Navigator, our next is Voyager, Barcelona to Galveston on 8th Dec then Sao Paulo Brazil to Lisbon on 6th April'08, then - who knows ??

Once we sailed with NCL on SS Norway and if that had been our first cruise we would never have cruised again!! awful.... the only saving grace on that cruise were our fellow dinner guests

Hello from Connecticut!

Let's see...where to begin. First of all, I have now been on 7 cruises with 6 of them being on RCCL and 1 of them on Princess. While I have been a loyal RCCL cruiser, I decided that I wanted to check out what the others had to offer. I really had a difficult time saying which was better as they are both awesome lines for different reasons. I have been on:

Sovereign
Monarch
Vision
Radiance
Voyager
Mariner

Each ship offers so much! Feel free to ask any questions. I love most everything about cruising!

Enjoy your day!

Michael

We've sailed on RCI since 1997 and try to cruise every year during the shoulder seasons.
It's the most relaxing vacation we've ever had and love the days at seas. We've been to virtually all the Caribbean ports, so we're happy to stay on board and have the ship almost to ourselves while most people go ashore.
And we love meeting new people so we always sit at a table for eight or more.
My partner loves the mega-ships so we're going on Liberty of the Seas in October 2008 and are looking forward to the Genesis-class ships.

My real name is Diane & I live in Upstate NY. I've been on about 16 cruises which most of them RCI. I'm doing 2 cruises this year. I'm doing Sovereign 4/21 and Adventure 12/7. I'm finally Diamond on RCI and really enjoyed the extra perks I got.

Hi everyone, My wife and I have been on 5 cruises, 3 with RC. We strayed and went with Carnival the last 2 and I'm looking forward to getting back on the more classy Royal Car. ships again. This is the first time I've been in this particular forum and am looking foward to seeing others views on this cruise line. We're from Iowa so we really like to get away in the winter.

What ships have you been on? And what would you say are the main differences between RCI and CCL?

We've been on Vision, Adventure, and Jewel. CCL. ships are more gawdy, at least the Miracle was. The layout was confusing, especially in the buffet dining room. The formal dining room was decorated in purple grapes ,very dark and the waiters were'nt half as good as RC. The main reason we went with them was economic. They are a little cheaper.

Spend time relaxing in the Viking Crown lounge. I think that is the most under-used part of the Voyager class. The view and peace during the day is great.

Aside from that, take walks at night, its something else I don't think people try enough. Its easy to lose yourself in the big ship, but refreshing to connect with the sea on deck.

Definitely take in an ice-skating show, have lunch at Johnny Rocket's (with a milkshake!) and have dinner at Portofino. The last two will cost a little, but it's worth it for the experience. Enjoy your cruise!

Hi. My name is Diana and I am from upstate NY. I went on my first cruise on Song of America before RCCL went public. I enjoyed it so much that when the Captain told us they were going to have the initial public stock offering I came home and bought a 100 shares. That has been great cause one of the shareholders benefits is cabin credit which covers your tips. We are leaving for our seventh RCCL cruise March 23, 2009. We are cruising Jewel of the Seas for an 11 night Panama Canal itinerary. We have been on Legend, Grandeur, Explorer, Splendor, Song of America.
